A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §18‑5‑13b, relating to requiring school bus aides, who are trained in preventing bullying and providing a safe environment for students while being transported on a school bus, to be present on school buses.


Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §18‑5‑13b, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 5.  COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION.


§18‑5‑13b.  Additional authority of boards; school bus aides.

Each county board is required to have school bus aides, who are trained in the prevention of bullying and providing a safe environment for the students while on a school bus, be present on school buses whenever students are being transported on those buses.

 

 

NOTE:  The purpose of this bill is to require school bus aides, who are trained in preventing bullying and providing a safe environment for the students while being transported on a school bus, to be present on school buses.
